2017 Spartan / Smeal Pumper

Engine 4713
Unit # 4713 is a 2002 Luverne pumper built on a Spartan chassis, powered by a 315 horsepower Cummins engine partnered with an Allison transmission. A 1500 gpm fire pump is fed by a 780-gallon booster tank, it carries 1500 feet of 4” supply hose, pre-connected hand-lines ranging from 1" up to 2.5" and nozzles of various sizes. 4713 carries a FIT-5 rapid fire knockdown device which can be deployed quickly to drastically reduce the temperature of a fire improving the odds of victim survival and can also save thousands of dollars in water damage to the structure. This pumper also carries hydraulic rescue tools including the "Jaws of Life", thermal-imaging camera, 10 kw hydraulically driven generator and 3000 watt elevated light tower. 120 volt scene lights are also mounted on the cab and rear of the body. The compartments on 4713 are “rescue” depth allowing for extra storage capacity with ground ladders carried in an overhead ladder rack on the passenger side..
Engine 4712
Unit # 4712 is a1993 3D pumper built on a Spartan chassis, powered by a 300 horsepower Cummins engine partnered with an Allison transmission. A 1250 gpm fire pump is fed by a 750-gallon booster tank, it carries 1500 feet of 4” supply hose, pre-connected hand-lines ranging from 1" up to 2.5" and nozzles of various sizes. In addition to fire suppression equipment, it has an 8 kw-diesel generator and 120 volt scene lighting fixtures. An enclosed cabinet was added to the rear cab wall in 2003 to hold medical equipment and a thermal imaging camera was added in 2007. This truck has high side compartments on both the left and right sides of the body with ground ladders carried in an overhead ladder rack on the passenger side.
Rescue 4710
Unit # 4710 is a 1995 American Fire & Rescue truck built on a Peterbilt chassis, powered by a 300 horsepower Cummins engine with an Allison transmission. This rescue truck has a 16-foot walk-in with seating for 4 firefighters and carries an assortment of rescue and support equipment. A 25kw PTO driven electrical generator supplies power to a 10-foot elevated light tower with six - 1500 watt fixtures, four 1500 watt fixed lights various electric outlets. Hydraulic rescue tools including the "Jaws of Life", smoke ejection fans, extra self contained breathing units and tanks, first aid supplies, and hand power tools are located in the unit’s side compartments. This unit can also serve as a command post and rehab vehicle at emergency scenes.
Engine 4711
Unit # 4711 is a 1984 Emergency One Hurricane pumper powered by a 239 horsepower Detroit 6L-71N engine and Allison transmission. A 1000 gpm fire pump is fed by a 750-gallon booster tank, it carries 1500 feet of 4” supply hose, pre-connected hand-lines ranging from 1" up to 2.5" and nozzles of various sizes. A 6 kw-diesel generator powers quartz lighting and outlets on the truck. This apparatus was extensively refurbished in 1999, adding compartment space and updated emergency lighting. Hard suction trays and flexi-suction hose with a floating strainer for drafting operations were added in 2002.
Brush/Utility 4718
Unit # 4718 is a 2010 Ford F250 pickup truck that serves multiple functions for the fire department. It is used to tow trailers such as the self contained breathing apparatus trailer that can be used to refill breathing air bottles on extended scenes. It is also used to tow the Ranger Utility Terrain 6x6 rescue vehicle trailer. A water tank and gasoline powered pump are mounted in the bed of the truck for use on brush fires. A 7.5-foot snowplow blade is used to remove snow from the Department’s parking areas.
Fire Chief 4700
Unit # 4700 is a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe that serves as an administrative and emergency response vehicle and is assigned to the Fire Chief. This vehicle is equipped with a mobile command center which includes multiple radios that allow the Chief to communicate with multiple outside agencies during large operations.
Assistant Fire Chief 4701
Unit # 4701 is a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that serves as an administrative and emergency response vehicle and is assigned to the Assistant Fire Chief. This vehicle carries a FIT-5 rapid fire knockdown device which can be deployed before a pumper arrives to drastically reduce the temperature of a fire and improve the odds of victim survival.
UTV-32
Assigned to MABAS Division 32, Signal Hill houses the Utility Terrain Vehicle provided by MABAS. This unit is a 2009 Polaris Ranger 6X6. The unit has been equipped with a stokes basket for patient transportation.
